Taoyuan Airport Day 1

You need not get to Taipei to board the HSR train to Taichung. Taoyuan HSR Station is nearer to Taichung HSR Station than Taipei HSR Station.



From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) > Taoyuan HSR Station

Taoyuan HSR station (not in Taoyuan City) is about 7 km from TTIA. United buses (service #705) serve this route take about 20 mins travelling time. Board the United bus at the public buses parking bays at either Terminal 1 or 2. Bus frequency is regular. Pay NT$30 in coins as you board the bus.

If staying in Taipei, how do i then get to Taipei HSR station
Taipei City is served by High Speed Rail (HSR), railway (TRA) and Taipei Metro (MRT) train services. The only location where all three types of trains converge is Taipei Main Station in downtown Taipei. All stations are below street level and are linked by long underground malls. The Taipei HSR Station is below street level at Taipei Main Station integrated with the railway and MRT Stations.
